Dump Truck Accident I-75
A dump truck was involved in an accident on Interstate-75 near mile marker 282. The accident appears to be a single vehicle accident. Photographs of the truck are below.
As a single vehicle accident occurring on straight, level, and open stretch of highway, we have to assume that this accident was the result of driver error. Weather and conditions do not appear to have been a factor in the collision. It is possible that this accident was the result of driver being distracted somehow in the cab of the truck. The temporary concrete wall does indicate that this accident occurred in a construction zone and the truck was carrying asphalt, probably for the road project. A possible distraction consistent with what happened in this accident might be that the driver was unaware or unsure of where he was supposed to turn in order to deliver his load and then overreacted at the wrong time.
