Let Us Be Your Guide Through Your Personal Injury Case

Personal injury is a general phrase used to refer to all types of injury cases.  To lawyers, this usually refers to cases that do not fit into more specific categories such as car accident, premises liability, product liability, or medical malpractice.

As a personal injury lawyer, I have handled a number of different cases that involve different subject areas including slip and fall, trip and fall, and dog bites.

Slip and Fall Cases

Slip and fall or trip and fall injuries tend to occur when there is either a dangerous condition on the premises (such as a failure to fill a hole) or due to a transient substance (water on the floor in a grocery store).

Dog Bite Cases

Dog bite and damage caused by dogs are personal injury cases governed by specific statutes and common law negligence.  In Florida, dog owners are held strictly liable for injuries caused by a dog bite where there is a lack of provocation on the person bitten.  In addition, “damage” done by dogs is also a statutory claim of strict liability and is significantly broader than a bite.  In particular, there are cases involving large dogs who have not bitten but either knocked a person down or severely scaring the person with a loud bark, thereby causing injury.  The injuries caused by such events can be severe and involve months of recovery for the injured person.  Such injuries may also last a lifetime depending on what they are.
